July 26 2008 - Reunited!

Dear All,

Great to see all of you on Saturday.  Everyone seemed to have
a very nice time.

We'll be leaving the web site up for a few months so
all of you can access photos or leave thoughts.

We are also going to start a list of those who would like a copy of the photos.  Please send me an e-mail at
dhines@consumersmedical.com if you would like a copy.  Best wishes!

Thoughts, Thanks and Memories

I don't know about you, but I had about a hundred amazing conversations with you all on Saturday.  Even so, there were a few folks I missed!  If you'd like to leave a hello or share an idea or comment about our fun event, click on comments on this post.

For those of you who could not join us, but checked out the site, we'd love to hear from you to.  You were missed. We hope seeing some of the family pics was fun for you too, even if you were just there in spirit.

Photo Confessional

IMG_2611

Liz here, your friendly clan photo editor.

Family, I am so excited to see you on Saturday.

In recent weeks, you all have been so generous about sharing family photos for all to enjoy.  I have especially enjoyed the time I was able to spend with Aunt Carol, Mary, and Peggy, who all shared valuable original photos and loads of family knowledge. Thanks to all of you who have sent images of emails too.

My hope was to digitize all these, share them via this site, AND be able to produce a photo disc in time for the event.

I have a confession to make.

I think the odds of me getting through all these photos by Saturday are . . . uh, none!

Losing my computer for a week to the repair shop, travel, and life in general got me in a little over my head.

Here's what I am hoping to do.

I have a batch of photos already edited that I will upload shortly.

Many of you have sent or spoken to me with corrected information for some of these existing photos; I will try to get those updates made.

Then, at the event itself and after, I will find out if people are interested in a phase two, where we continue and expand a family photo archive! I'll bring a handy laptop with me to take notes or let you check out any pics etc.

Yours in imperfection,

Liz Hines Kelleher

I'm Coming Back for You!

This wonderful family artifact came from the collection of Aunt Mary Hines in New York.

It's sheet music commemorating a historic moment at the end of the first World War.

Text reads:

Gen. Edwards, Commander of the Yankee Division. Pinning the War Cross on Lieut. Paul H. Hines, of the 102nd Inf. n Boston Common, Feb. 1919."

Sheet Music: "Yankee Girl, I'm Coming Back to You."

Additional text reads:
Dedicated to General Clarence R. Edwards and the 26th Division.
Buy This Song to Help the Wounded Soldiers.
Words by Jack O'Brien, Music By Billy Timmins

Brothers and Sisters Together

Many of us have a copy of this in a prominent place: all eight brothers and sisters together at a Blute family wedding in Shrewsbury in the 1980s.

Do you have more family photos you'd like to add? We're hoping to add more and share them at the reunion.   If you'd like to add yours, please get in touch with Liz (lizkdc@gmail.com).
