Hello. I am gathering information on Company L, 102nd US Infantry Regiment, 26th "Yankee" Division for a thesis I am writing regarding my grandfather's experience as a battalion runner in Company L. I have as part of my grandfather's photograph collection a picture of Lt. Hines, company commander of Co. L at that time, standing akimbo inside a shell hole taken in Bois de Remiere after the thwarted German attempt to capture Seicheprey and the Beaumont Heights in April 1918. The photo was taken by my grandfather Corporal Merritt E. Learned sometime in May of that year. I would like to correspond with anyone interested in my endeavor who might be able to assist me.
