In honor of this year's reunion, we'd like to start assembling a family photo archive, with the goal of having some of the most memorable images on a handy CD to give out at the party or send to those who can't attend.

Along the way, thought we'd post some good ones here, to spark your creative and archival juices.

What's in a Name?

Marina provided the following info on the possible origin of the family name:

Irish: Anglicized form of Gaelic Ó hEidhin ‘descendant of Eidhin’, a personal name or byname of uncertain origin. It may be a derivative of eidhean ‘ivy’, or it may represent an altered form of the place name Aidhne. The principal family of this name is descended from Guaire of Aidhne, King of Connacht. From the 7th century for over a thousand years they were chiefs of a territory in County Galway.

Dear Hines Family Members,

It’s been a long time since there has been an opportunity for all of us to get together – too long.  You are cordially invited to a family reunion on Saturday, July 26, in Duxbury, Massachusetts.
